I hope I get the hang of this!

Well I don't know if any of you know, but we are not
bloggers!  I hope this will help me get a little more organized with our family and help keep everyone up to date of our crazy lives!
There isn't much happening with our family this month.  We continue to work on things around the home.

Quincy is, as you all know, quite the handy man!  We have a few things to finish up on the new floor, but we are very pleased with how they turned out!  (this was during the processes!)  We do still have baseboards to to get and paint, and put up, but we love the the new floor.  Quincy also refinished our kitchen table.  We still have the chairs to do, but it looks very nice with the floor.

Quincy continues to work hard at the prison.  He doesn't get any vacation time until after May, so it will be a long few months.  Hopefully we will be able to get away to a few places this summer. He is a teacher in Elder Quorum, and for the most part I think he enjoys the calling.  He had a fun time helping Keaton shot his 22 last month.  I think that will be a great past time for the both of them as Keaton continues to get older!
Jamie (me) is still working hard.  Sometimes it doesn't seem like there is a break between work and family, it gets jumbled together most days.  I am now in the Primary and get to teach Kendylls class.  It has been a blast so far.  I was extremely sad to be released from Young Women, but after having my Tuesday's back, it has made life a little less crazy for me!

Kendyll continues to love Kindergarten.  She seems to be learning and enjoying almost every minute of it.  She was Student of the month in December for Kindergarten, and got to have a picture with the Principal.  The teacher seems to be very pleased with how well she listens and participates.  She continues to get prizes and praises from her teacher and principal for being well behaved and doing good in school!  She is very colorful in choosing her outfits each day, and it shows her bright personality.  I am hoping to put her in dance or soccer, not quite sure which ones she wants to do more!  (also I am a procrastinator in getting her signed up for things,)  Nothing wrong with flowers, plaid and stripes, and snow boots RIGHT!
Keaton is a crazy little 4 year old.  He loves going to pre-school.  He has made a lot of friends, and his teacher continues to tell me how much she enjoys him, and has to remind herself to call on other kids, because Keaton is always raising his hands first, and almost always has the right answers.  He is the little leader out of his class and always a big help!  He loves to play Call of Duty with dad, and he is actually getting pretty good for a 4 year old!  He loves to play with his lego's and build things.  It is fun to see how imaginative he can be.  He is still very sweet and love to cuddle with mom, and will quite often still say I love you!.  Melts my heart every time he says that and smiles with his super cute dimples!  He is going to be a heart breaker someday!  This picture was taken on Christmas Eve and we did candle's for the cemetery!  It was freezing! But we enjoy that tradition each year!
We will try and be better at taking pictures.  This will hopefully help us be more aware of that, and snap away more often.  Love you all!  Quincy, Jamie, Kendyll and Keaton!

Haps in P*Town

Here are some highlights from January for the Adam Rindy family:

* We have read The Book of Mormon every day ALL YEAR LONG. (We're not sure how long we'll be able to say that, so we're taking advantage of every chance we get.)  Misty has worked out a fun new reading schedule, and we're already on chapter 17 of 1 Nephi.  (We didn't make it much past that through all of 2012, so we're feeling pretty good.)

* We've arranged a Kid Swap so we watch kiddos while their parents go to the temple and then our kids go to their house while we go to the temple.  It's a stroke of genius, since it takes care of the kidlet situation and we have extra forces encouraging us to get to the temple.  We took advantage of Human Rights Day (when Adam had the day off) to go for the first time this year and it was great.  The new movie invites a lot of pondering, and we both came away with some new lessons.

* We've started this rice experiment that Misty heard about at Time Out For Women and the kids have had a blast saying nice things to the Love Rice and grumpy things to the Hate Rice.  We're hoping that our little experiment turns out the way it's supposed to, but so far it has made a big difference, particularly with how the kids talk to each other.  It's awesome.

* AJ & Aaron have read 1,000 books with their first grade class and got to have a 'D' Party.  Their teacher encouraged them to come to school in a disguise or dressed up and our boys took that to mean they could wear their Skeleton Halloween Costumes from 2 years ago.  They thought it was the greatest day ever.

* Melia has also been having a blast at school.  They are working on their Pirate unit in her Preschool and her treasure hunt was last week.  She came home looking like the real deal.

* Adam took his Praxis Test for his Reading Endorsement class and rocked it.  After 6 years of endorsements, he's taking a small break, much to Misty's delight, before he begins his Technology Endorsement next year.  It is great to have him home on Tuesday nights.

* Melia's dance recital was last weekend and she did a great job.  It was wonderful especially to have Grandma Rindy come support her (and bring GummiBears for AJ & Aaron - bonus!).  Melia loves dancing and performing and thought she was hot stuff when she got flowers from her uncles after the show.

* Our Wednesday nights have been busy with Mutual for Adam and volleyball games for Misty, but that helps us enjoy our commitment-free evenings even more.  We love spending time together at home, doing puzzles, playing games, and relaxing without having to rush around.  Life is good.

The USU Rindy's

Well hello from the northern part of Utah.  Kassidy, Tinley and myself are doing great.  This past week we were able to take mom and dad and go visit hardware ranch.  During the winter the elk come down from the mountain and graze in the meadows.  At the ranch they have sleighs and horses that take you around to see the elk.  Tinley had fun in the beginning but she got bored and quickly fell asleep. I am still going strong at the whole school thing.  Hopefully I am getting closer and not further away from my degree.  I am still working at Sprinkler Supply and its a great job. I work about 15 hours a week with my full school schedule.  Kassidy is loving her job at Great Clips and is enjoying the environment of cutting hair and all the fun that comes with it.  Kassidy just recently celebrated her 22nd birthday, and is loving her new gym pass and the amenities that come with it.  Tinley is a happy GROWING little girl.  She just had a check up the other day and she is now a whopping 19 lbs.  She is as healthy as any other child and she loves to show it.  Recently her first tooth has popped through her gums and she now has a small little white tooth coming in.  Tinley has mastered the rolling over part of life and is now trying to take on the sitting up and crawling.  She loves her little walker so much that she occasionally falls asleep.  All is well in Logan and we are tying to survive the cold weather.  If anybody wants a place to stay when they are up way north, our doors are always open.  It may be a small apartment but we love visitors.

Hiking..kayaking...makes you tired!

Well we succeeded in turning our kids into zombies just by exercise alone.  After church today we went kayaking and hiking....not bad...but throw in wind and makes for an exhausting time.   Then wind was unfortunately not on our side and was blowing into us on the way out....makes it cold and a little tricky to paddle.  But the hike was wonderful.  We climbed this hill/mountain that takes you down into a place called Ships Cove.  It is a bay that has a tanker or something like that sunk in it.  There had to be ten or fifteen seals playing in the water.  The kids enjoyed the hike...it was really easy and they loved seeing the seals...but then you have the hike back after all the climbing and playing...then the kayaking back...thank goodness it was easier this time.. but we were tired!

COUNT DOWN!

Hey everyone.  You only have ten days left...make it nine by the time any of you see this to participate in the challenge!!!

I got flowers today at work from one or some or all of my children.
I sure am the luckiest mother on earth.  Thank you to the person or persons
who did this act of kindness.  It is great being a mother 99% of the time.
the other percent is for calculated error.  You know you always have to have
a margin for error.  With my kids it is only 1% so I thank you from the bottom of
my heart.  I was pleasantly surprised and I love you all and your spouses and all
my 19 1/2 grandkids.  You are all great and very considerate!!!

Pea-chicks....

my oh my...look at her ears...I would say she is related to some Rindlisbacher along the way after all.

The boys like to call Nia the Pink Ninja...and yes...she can be lethal.

Apparently whenever one of them put on their black thermals they all become ninja's.

And of course they cant just smile and say cheese.  Always have to mug for the camera...

A challenge

Now I know it can be challenging to keep your photos updated for families and friends...at least for us it can.  So here is a challenge for the new year for us all.  This will do two things hopefully.  One we will all get to see updated and current photos of the kids.  Two we will start writing on the family blog again and everyone will stay in touch just a little more...

So the challenge for 2014 is...can you do at least one post and do one entry of current photos of your kids and or family once a month?  Let see who can do this...and the winner in December will get....hmmm a gift card for an amount that will be decided at a later date...deal?

Ready, set, go!  21 more days for January!
